Horisont 2020 infopäev “Energiatõhusus”

Energiatõhususe infopäeval pakutakse võimalust luua koostöövõrgustikku ja õppida edukatest projektidest. Üritusel tutvustatakse Horisont 2020 energiatõhususe 2017. aasta taotlusvooru prioriteete, antakse nõu, kuidas taotleda toetust ning pakutakse ülevaadet Euroopa energiatõhususe poliitikast.

Energy Efficiency Call for Proposals 2017 Info Day
This year we have structured the content of the Info Day in 8 different sessions, each one providing several networking opportunities as well as the possibility to learn from successful projects.
This year’s Information Day will update you on the European Energy Efficiency policy; present you the Energy Efficiency priorities of the H2020 Energy Efficiency 2017 calls for proposals; provide you guidance on how to apply for funding etc. More than 700 participants coming from SME associations, businesses, European and national trade associations, chambers of commerce, European institutions, universities, financial institutions, etc. are expected.

The European Science Cloud: Getting from idea to action
In May 2015, European research ministers agreed to forge ahead with an ambitious project to develop a “science cloud” – an online resource interlinking scientific data, results, and researchers across the EU. The need is clear: The more data-intensive science becomes, the more important it becomes to share that data more efficiently – and that requires new networking and software tools.
But how will this happen? At what cost? Who will use it – and, Internet companies ask, who will help build and run it? How can it be made safe from hacking or privacy invasion? These are among the questions that this Science|Business Network event will examine with experts on the topic from academia, industry and the policy world.

BIEE Oxford ‘Innovation and Disruption: the energy sector in transition’
The British Institute of Energy Economics (BIEE) Oxford conference is a two day research conference that seeks to understand the drivers of change in energy, both positive and negative.
The conference is aimed at energy analysts, researchers, strategy and policy thinkers from all backgrounds, including industry, academia, research organisations, government, the finance community, NGOs and consultancies.

Horisont 2020 infopäev “Arukad linnad ja kogukonnad”

Infopäev on suunatud 2016-2017 Horisont 2020 valdkondadevaheliste meetmete tööprogrammi arukate linnade ja kogukondade teema potentsiaalsetele taotlejatele, eriti just 2017. aasta taotlusvoorule.

2016 Information Day on the Horizon 2020 ‘Smart cities and communities’
The event targets potential applicants to the Smart Cities & Communities topic of the 2016-2017 Horizon 2020 Work Programme ‘Cross-cutting activities’, and in particular the 2017 call.
Presentations will cover the call content and the application procedure. More information and the agenda will follow.
A networking event will take place in the second part of the day.

Horisont 2020 infopäev “Tark, keskkonnahoidlik ja integreeritud transport”

Infopäev on suunatud potentsiaalsetele Horisont 2020 valdkonna “Tark, keskkonnahoidlik ja integreeritud transport” taotlejatele. Ettekanded käsitlevad taotluse menetlusprotsesse, taotlusvoorude teemasid ja muud detailset informatsiooni. Pärastlõunal toimub partnerlusüritus.

2016 Information Day on the Horizon 2020 ‘Smart, green and integrated transport’
The information day addresses potential applicants to the Horizon 2020 ‘Smart, green and integrated transport’ calls for project proposals under the 2016-2017 Work programme.
Presentations will cover the various topics open for submission and the application procedure, as well as provide detailed information on the calls.  A brokerage event will take place in the afternoon.

Tšehhi T&A kontaktbüroo töökoda: Horisont 2020 biotehnoloogia konsortsiumi loomine

Tšehhi teadus- ja arendustegevuse kontaktbüroo (CZELO) korraldab koostöös EPS Biotehnoloogiaga, Tšehhi biotehnoloogia VKE-ga, ürituse, et hõlbustada potentsiaalsetel partneritel konsortsiumi loomist teatud biotehnoloogiaga seotud Horisont 2020 2017. aasta taotlusvoorudeks.
Üritus on osa Euroopa biotehnoloogia nädalast.

H2020 Biotech Consortium Building Workshop
On 28 September 2016, the Czech Liaison Office for Research, Development and Innovation (CZELO) together with EPS biotechnology, a Czech Biotech SME, jointly organize a consortium building event aimed at facilitating potential partners to form project consortia around the following biotech-related H2020 2017 calls:

• SFS-30-2017 (Closing loops at farm and regional levels to mitigate GHG emissions and environmental contamination – focus on carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus cycling in agro-ecosystems);
• CIRC-02-2016-2017 (Water in the context of the circular economy);
• LCE-29-2017 (CCS in industry, including Bio-CCS); LCE-30-2017 (Geological storage pilots);
• BIOTEC-07-2017 (New Plant Breeding Techniques (NPBT) in molecular farming: Multipurpose crops for industrial bioproducts).

The workshop is part of the European Biotech Week. 

Digitaalsed teadusinfrastruktuurid 2016: e-infrastruktuuride ja nende kasutajate kohtumispaik
28.-30.09.16 Krakow, Poola
DI4R ehk digitaalsed teadusinfrastruktuurid 2016 on üritus, kuhu on oodatud teadlased, arendajad, andmespetsialistid ja teenusepakkujad, et teha ajurünnakuid ja leida praktilisi lahendusi teaduse ja uuringute toetamiseks ja hõlbustamiseks Euroopas. Üritus on mõeldud erinevate valdkondade teadlastele, kes tuginevad oma teadustöös digitaalinfrastruktuuridele, kuid ka teadusuuringute infrastruktuuride ja rahastamisorganisatsioonide esindajatele. Ürituse eesmärk on edendada digitaalinfrastruktuuri teenuste laialdasemat kasutuselevõttu ja kasutajale suunatud innovatsiooni.

DI4R 2016: The meeting place for e-Infrastructures and their users
Researchers, developers, data practitioners and service providers are invited to the DI4R event to brainstorm and find practical solutions to support and facilitate science and research across Europe. DI4R is for researchers from all disciplines who rely upon digital infrastructures for their research, as well as for representatives of research infrastructures and funding organizations. The event is designed with research communities in mind and aims to foster broader adoption of digital infrastructure services and promote user-driven innovation.

Teine rahvusvaheline konverents valitsuse teaduslikust nõustamisest

Euroopa Komisjon ja rahvusvahelise valitsuse teadusliku nõustamise võrgustik (INGSA) korraldavad kahepäevase konverentsi Euroopa Komisjoni Charlemagne’i hoones, mis toob kokku kriitiliste, globaalsete teemadega seotud teadusliku nõustamise tarbijad ja pakkujad. Poliitikakujundajad, juhtivad erialatöötajad, teadlased ja teised sidusrühmad, kes tegelevad valitsusele pakutava teadusliku nõustamise valdkonnaga, uurivad põhimõtteid ja tavasid erinevates praegustes ja keerulistes poliitika kontekstides. Rahvusvahelisele kogukonnale esitatakse ka Komisjoni Teaduslikku nõuandvat mehhanismi. Konverentsi eesmärk on astuda suur samm selle poole, et vastata Maailma teadusfoorumi 2015. aasta deklaratsioonis esitatud väljakutsele.

2nd International Conference on Science Advice to Government
The International Network for Government Science Advice (INGSA) and the European Commission will hold the 2nd International Conference on Science Advice to Government in Brussels, Belgium on 29-30 September 2016.
Jointly organised by the European Commission and the International Network for Government Science Advice (INGSA), the conference will bring together users and providers of scientific advice on critical, global issues. Policy-makers, leading practitioners and scholars in the field of science advice to governments, as well as other stakeholders, will explore principles and practices in a variety of current and challenging policy contexts. It will also present the new Scientific Advice Mechanism of the European Commission to the international community. Through keynote lectures and plenary discussions and topical parallel sessions, the conference aims to take a major step towards responding to the challenge best articulated by the World Science Forum Declaration of 2015.

Horisont 2020 partnerlusüritus “Tuleviku linnad”

“Tuleviku linnad” on rahvusvaheline partnerlusüritus, mis toob kokku 300 teadlast, tööstussektori spetsialisti, riigiametnikku ja poliitikuid Euroopast ja Türgist.
Üritus on suunatud järgnevatele Horisont 2020 taotlusvoorudele: “Arukad ja säästvad linnad”, “Energiatõhusad hooned”, “Tuleviku tehased”, “Säästvatele protsessidele tuginevad tööstusvaldkonnad”, “Ringmajandus” ja “Euroopa energiasäästlike sõidukite algatus”.
“Tuleviku linnad” üritus hõlmab linnade üldise energia- ja ressursitõhususe tugevat majanduslikku, sotsiaalset ja keskkonnamõju, mille tulemuseks on parem elukvaliteet.
Üritus pakub ainulaadset võimalust luua kontakte mitte ainult Türgi ja Euroopa teadlastega, vaid ka kõrgelt kvalifitseeritud teadusuuringutes osalevate väikeste ja keskmise suurusega ettevõtetega (VKEd). Seetõttu pakub üritus suurepärast platvormi laiendada võrgustikku ja luua uusi partnerlussuhteid järgmisteks Horisont 2020 taotlusvoorudeks.

“CITIES of the FUTURE-H2020” International Brokerage Event
The “Cities of the Future 2016” Brokerage Event will bring together 300 researchers, industry professionals, government officials and policy makers from Europe and Turkey.
The event will target the following H2020 calls: -‘Smart and Sustainable Cities’ and ‘Energy Efficient Buildings’ – ‘Factories of The Future’ – ‘Sustainable Process Industries’ and ‘Circular Economy’ – ‘The European Green Vehicles Initiative’.
“Cities of the Future 2016” is meant as a wider concept that encompasses cities’ overall energy and resource efficiency with profound economic, social and environmental impacts, resulting in a better quality of life.

The event targets potential applicants to the calls for ‘Smart Grids and Storage’ projects, which will be funded under the 2016-2017 Horizon 2020 Work programme ‘Secure, clean and efficient energy’, and in particular under the ‘Competitive low-carbon energy’ (LCE) call (topics: LCE-01-2016-2017, LCE-04-2017 and LCE-05-2017).

At the event you will have the chance to listen and talk to the authors of the work programme 2017, meet representatives of companies and research organisations and find co-operation partners for your ideas in pre-organised bi-lateral meetings. The Infoday will be organised by COSMOS2020 and the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency GSA. 

Science Europe seminar “Järeldoktoriõppe tugi ja valdkondadevahelised liikuvuse skeem”

Science Europe korraldab seminari, et arutada kahte teadlaste karjääriga seotud teemat, millest peagi avaldatakse raportid: järeldoktoriõppe programmid ja valdkondadevaheline liikuvus. Science Europe’i teaduskarjääri töörühm on kaardistanud järeldoktorantide võimalused, mis hõlmab üle 100 skeemi. Seminaril vaadatakse ka erinevaid meetmeid, mis võimaldavad teadlastel olla liikuvamad erinevate töövaldkondade vahel.
Mõlema teema puhul esitab töörühm oma tulemused ja järeldused, millele järgneb paneeldiskussioon peamiste sidusrühmadega ning avatud arutelu seminaril osalejatega.

Science Europe Researchers’ Careers Workshop: Postdoctoral Support, and Intersectoral Mobility Schemes
On 5 October 2016, Science Europe is organising a workshop at its premises in Brussels to discuss two topics pertaining to researchers’ careers and linked to forthcoming reports: postdoctoral schemes and intersectoral mobility. The Science Europe Working Group on Research Careers has carried out a mapping of support opportunities for ‘postdocs’, which covers more than 100 schemes. The workshop will look at the diversity of measures that are in place to enable researchers to be more mobile across different sectors of employment.
For both topics, presentations of the findings and recommendations of the Working Group will be followed by a panel discussion with key stakeholders, as well as by an open discussion with all workshop participants.

Annual conference on “Physics, Chemistry and Biology of Water”
11th Annual Water Сonference will be held on October 6st – 9th 2016, at the Government Congress Center, Sofia, Bulgaria. The number of participants – 150 people maximum.

Konverents “Teadusstrateegiad: Euroopa 2030 ja järgmine raamprogramm”

Science Business korraldab konverentsi, et arutada ettevõtete, ülikoolide ja valitsuse tuleviku strateegiaid teadus- ja arendustegevuses. Research strategy is the focus of this Science|Business Network conference. It will bring together a select group of corporate executives, university administrators and policy leaders from all over Europe and from all sectors/disciplines to:         

• Debate how will Brexit – who’s ‘in’ and who’s ‘out’? – affect research strategies, for the public and private sector?       
• Discuss among peers the Commission’s newly prepared scenarios for the future.       
• Analyse how they will affect R&D strategies of companies, universities and governments.

Horisont 2020 infopäev “Teadusuuringute avaliku ja erasektori partnerlused”

Ürituse eesmärk on anda teadusringkonnale ülevaade järgmiste avaliku ja erasektori partnerluste tegevustest: tulevikutehaste, energiatõhusate hoonete, säästvatele protsessidele tuginevate tööstuste ja Euroopa nn roheliste sõidukite algatused. Horizon 2020 Information Day on the Research Public-Private Partnerships
The aim of the event is to give the research community an overview of ongoing activities in the following PPPs: Factories of the Future, Energy-efficient Buildings, Sustainable Process Industry and European Green Vehicles Initiative.
Support will be given for the preparation of proposals for the 2017 calls.

International Conference on Sustainable Smart Manufacturing

Science Europe workshop on “Strategies for Widening Excellence and Closing the Knowledge Divide in Europe” (working title)
This is to inform you that Science Europe will organise a workshop on ‘Strategies for Widening Excellence and Closing the Knowledge Divide in Europe’ (working title) on 26 and 27 October in Budapest.
This workshop aims to continue a high-level exchange of views between Science Europe Members to identify key issues and possible common solutions to closing the knowledge gap in Europe. It is planned to also have input and participation by European Commission officials and other partners.
Participation by Science Europe Member Organisation is intended at the level of Heads of Organisations and/or senior level representatives.
Formal invitations along with more information and a detailed programme will follow shortly. Currently the event does not have a home page. 

17. Euroopa molekulaarbioloogia konverents “Minevik praeguses hetkes”

Euroopa molekulaarbioloogia labor (EMBL) ja Euroopa molekulaarbioloogia organisatsioon (EMBO) korraldavad Saksamaal Heidelbergis ühise konverentsi, mille eesmärk on esitada bioteaduste tähtsate valdkondade uuringuid kõigile arusaadaval viisil ning edendada arutelu nende mõjust. Konverents pakub võimalust laiaulatuslikuks dialoogiks bioloogide, ühiskonnateadlaste, erinevate erialade tudengite ja üksikisikute vahel. Üritusel arutatakse muuhulgas järgnevaid teemasid: molekulaarmälu; inimese mälu: päritolu, mehhanismid, tähendused.

17th EMBL|EMBO Science and Society Conference: The Past in the Present
The main aim of these joint meetings is to present important areas of life science research in a manner accessible to all, and to promote reflection on their implications.

Konverents “Avatud juurdepääsu ja avaandmete teaduspoliitika järgmised sammud”

Next steps for Open Access and Open Data research policy
This conference will bring together senior policymakers and stakeholders to examine progress with the process of opening up access to research outputs, and the further push to apply the same principles to research data.
Delegates will discuss remaining challenges identified in the latest report from the Government’s UK Open Access Co-ordination Group – including how to apply open access to monographs, the management of repositories and their future role, and the level of Article Processing Charges, as well as the future of the academic publishing market more widely.
We expect those attending to include representatives from universities and their mission groups, research-intensive businesses and their trade associations, academic publishers, learned societies, research councils and other research funders.

Paralleeldiskussioonid keskenduvad 4 tööstuse moderniseerimisega seotud peamisele teemale: arukas tootmine ja digitaalne transformatsioon; ringmajandus; progressi võimaldavad tehnoloogiad; loovad ja andmetele orienteeritud teenused.
Enne konverentsi, 30. novembril, toimub Euroopa klastrite partnerlusüritus.

European Cluster Conference 2016
This year’s conference will focus on Cluster 4.0 – Shaping Smart Industries and include high-level plenary speeches, panel discussions and interactive sessions where participants will have the chance to share their experiences and challenges. Parallel discussions will take place in 4 priority areas related to industrial modernisation, namely: smart manufacturing and digital transformation; the circular economy; key enabling technologies; creative and data-driven services.
The parallel discussions will all cover the same key horizontal topics in different sessions. These include the role of clusters in boosting the innovation uptake and growth opportunities through strengthening cross-sectoral value chain linkages, strategic European partnering, international collaboration and skills towards shaping smart industries.
To kick off the conference the European Cluster Collaboration Platform is organising a  large-scale European cluster matchmaking event on 30 November 2016. This will be a unique opportunity for European Clusters to explore common areas of interest for cooperation and build complementarities in terms of sectoral, value chain and market focus.

Bratislava biomajanduse konverents

Slovakkia eesistumine korraldab koostöös Euroopa Komisjoniga konverentsi Euroopa piirkondlikust rollist jätkusuutliku Euroopa biomajanduse arendamises. Konverentsi eesmärk on arutada riiklike ja piirkondlike sidusrühmadega uut biomajanduse konteksti põllumajanduses, metsanduses ja kalanduses, teadusuuringute ja innovatsiooni rolli ühiskondlike probleemide lahendamisel ning teha kindlaks piirkondades esinevad takistused biomajanduse strateegia kohandamisel. Konverentsil arutatakse ka, kuidas piirkonnad saavad kasutada ka teisi ELi instrumente ja algatusi peale Horisont 2020, et toetada piirkondlikke biomajanduse klastreid, nt Euroopa struktuuri- ja investeerimisfondid (ESIF) ja aruka spetsialiseerumise strateegiad (RIS3).

Bratislava Bioeconomy conference
The Slovak Presidency together with European Commission under the auspices of Standing Committee of Agricultural Research (SCAR) will organise a conference on the role of EU regions in developing a sustainable European Bioeconomy. The aim of the conference is to discuss with national and regional stakeholders the new bioeconomy context for the agriculture, forestry and fisheries, the role of research and innovation to overcome the big societal challenges ahead of us and also to identify the barriers in the regions in adapting the bioeconomy strategy. The conference will also discuss how regions can benefit from relevant EU instruments and initiatives that can support regional bioeconomy clusters beside the Horizon 2020, such as the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) and smart specialisation strategies (RIS3).

Üritus annab unikaalse võimaluse Slovakkiale kui uuele ELi liikmesriigile tutvustada Horisont 2020 taotlusvoorude kohalikku perspektiivi.

Re-Industrialisation of the European Union 2016
Hundreds of representatives from European and international research, innovation communities, and the business sector will meet to discuss this topic during a prestigious event in the field of nanotechnologies, advanced materials, manufacturing and production technologies, biotechnology – the International Conference REinEU2016.
REinEU2016 will be financed through the Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (NMBP) and will include matchmaking events, poster sessions, site visits around Bratislava, workshops and competitions. It represents a unique opportunity for Slovakia as one of the new EU Member states to present its local perspective on the Horizon 2020 calls, which will open in mid-2016, and present solutions tailored to these countries.
